Francis the goose needs eye surgery

Meet Francis.
Francis is a Chinese goose, I have been his goose-mom since he was two days old. He is now five years old. Chinese geese can live to be Thirty Years Old!
But Francis has a problem, he is going blind.
Francis has juvenile cataracts.

Before I explain,  let me tell you a little about him.
Francis is my baby.
I am seventeen and being a mom to Francis has been one of my favorite things about my life.
But I'm not the only one who doesn't want to see Francis go blind.
Francis has lots of friends and even a girlfriend!
She is a Chinese goose like him,  and her name is Friendly.
His friends include;  two Saddle Back geese," the twins" Berry and Sunny (A.K.A. the brats of the barnyard). There's Paris, the Toulouse goose (A.K.A. Big Boy) the oldest and wisest of them all.
And last but definetly not least is Dilly,  (A.K.A. the General) the tufted Peking duck, the smallset, but bossiest.
All six of them spend their days swimming in our pond, eating grass and searching for wild blackberries... and bossing around the two hens, Honey (the golden hen), and Hava (the fat red hen) (A.K.A. the barnyard gossips).
Francis slept in a crib and wore pajamas for the first six months of his life.
And when he woke up and started calling for me in the middle of the night,  he slept in my bed,  snuggled up to my neck.
He is truly loved.
We noticed his eyes turning a hazy blue about two months ago.
We also noticed that he would struggle to find his food bowl when he was fed his dinner.
We spent hours trying to find out what this could be and what to do about it.
We finally found a vet who would see him, and he diagnosed Francis with juvenile cataracts. Other than that, our vet told us that Francis is in excellent health.
Our vet referred us to an animal ophthalmologist (an animal eye doctor)
I should tell you that Francis was very calm through his examination and even enjoyed the car ride.
He (the animal eye doctor) told us that Francis would need surgery or else he will lose his eye sight entirely.
There is no treatment other than surgery and it's expensive, VERY expensive.
What that would mean is,  that Francis would get the lenses of his eyes replaced with synthetic ones.
The eye-vet would need another vet to give Francis anesthesia (because he is more accustomed to larger animals).
There is time,  but not much.
If it gets much worse there will be nothing they can do.
As a goose-mom,  I am asking for help with such an expensive surgery for my little web-footed person, named Francis.
Francis still calls me "Mom".
No really, if I say, "MOM!" Francis will repeat it,... to the best of his ability anyway, you should hear it.
We all love Francis so much.
He is the best behaved goose you have ever seen. He was so good for the vet, he never made any fuss and he was very cooperative.
He was the vet's favorite patient of the day.
He's like any "pet", they are all our little furry, feathery, or scaled family members.
Please help me give Francis a bright future he can see.
Anything helps.
From my family, feathery, furry, and scaled members included, Thank You.
