The 8U West Texas Cyclones softball team has been selected to attend the USSSA World Series in Orlando, Florida on July 16-23, 2016. This is a great honor awarded to only the top teams in the Nation and we are privileged to be able to represent the Lubbock area at an event of this magnitude. Our girls have worked so hard this year and are currently ranked in the Top 15 in the nation in our division. The World Series will be held at the ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida and will be nationally televised. We are eagerly looking forward to these games and have been training for quite some time to prepare for this once in a lifetime opportunity, but we need your help! As you can imagine, the cost of competing in the World Series is overwhelming, so your support for the athletes in your local community would mean so much to our team. In order to make it to Florida, our team must raise a large amount of money to fund the trip and pay for items such as airfare, hotel, tournament fees, and entry fees just to name a few.
Our coaches and parents work hard and put in a lot of time and money to provide these opportunities to our players. However, we cannot do it alone. The cost for attending the World Series is significant, and we want our girls to be able to participate in this great event. We are providing these girls with real life skills and experiences that go beyond just this season and we would love to have your financial support to help this team achieve its goals.
We would like to take a moment to tell you a little more about our team! The West Texas Cyclones are a group of 11 girls who compete in the 8U divison of fast pitch softball. These girls participate in ASA and USSSA tournaments across our region and are proud to represent the Lubbock area. Our current statistics include a 1.000 winning percentage, meaning we have not lost a game this season and our team differential is a 12.6, which means in our gameswe average at least 12 or more points than our opponents! As you can see, our girls play hard as a team and have done really well. We are eager to compete against different teams in the World Series and are excited about the opportunity to play some really strong teams to better our team skills!
