Mandy's new bike, she deserves this

4 years ago my wonderful friend Mandy was about to turn 40, a milestone that most of us look forwards to celebrating - we plan parties, nights out, special holidays, family gatherings to celebrate.  However Mandy did none of these things as only a few weeks earlier Mandy's daughter Leah had lost her battle following her motorbike accident and had tragically died.

Mandy's 40th birthday came and went without any celebrations.

Over the past 4 years many people have come to realise what a wonderful, inspiring and genuinely very nice person Mandy is.  She has to deal with so much in her life and she asks for very little in return.

Mandy has recently taken up cycling, a hobby which she really enjoys.  It is her therapy and helps her to deal with her daily struggles of the reality of life as she knows it now.  However Mandy doesn't have a bike, she uses her husband Ian's bike.

Mandy has spoken to me about how much owning her own bike would mean to her, she longs to be able to go for a bike ride with Ian - something they just can't do.  She is saving up for her bike, but has a long way to go.

I thought it would be lovely for Mandy's friends to club together and either buy her a bike (my dream!), or provide Mandy with a nice pot of money towards buying her bike - she deserves some happiness in her life, and she deserves to know just how much her friends love her.
