Stop Forced Euthanasia By Hospices

My husband Alan Isner was the victim of forced euthanasia by Hospice. Only placed in the facility having anxiety, and being assured he wouldn't fall, he fell the first night and was given extremely high doses of Ativan, Morphine, and Haldol. Not experiencing pain or agitation, his admission record was falsified stating he was admitted with uncontrollable pain and agitation. There were no symptoms or previous medical documentation of that from the hospital he was transferred from, being there for observation only. All regular medications were discontinued and no food was ordered even though he could swallow before being placed there. No explanation of the lethality of combining these drugs or a plan of care was ever explained to me. Haldol was given without consent or our knowledge and was given after I refused it. This is a violation of the patient's right to participate or refuse the plan of care and right of informed consent. Haldol was also used as a chemical restraint. The doctor wrote, "to keep him from getting out of bed." He tried to get up to use the bathroom. While unconscious and suffering from overdose and side effects of Morphine, another round of Ativan, Haldol and Morphine were given. After asking several times if these drugs were the cause of difficult respirations and apnea they lied and said. "no he's dying." I repeatedly refused the scheduled every 2 hr. doses because he was unconscious and I complained that he was over medicated. The result of complaining and refusing medications was a nurse who doubled his dose of Morphine without my knowledge and for no medically justifiable reason. He died that day after 3 days of no food no water and a 1.7 blood level of Morphine. After his death I started a facebook group Murdered By Hospice. Our members are witnesses to medical murders in hospitals, nursing homes and Hospices using these same illegal practices. And being forced to sign a DNR to get care, being refused medical treatment for conditions unrelated to a terminal disease, misdiagnosed with terminal diseases, withholding diagnoses to keep patients from seeking life saving treatment.  The deceptively telling patient families that raising a hand or making a facial expression means the patient is in pain and needs Morphine. Many of their loved ones were not terminal and some were enrolled in palliative and Hospice care without consent.  Our cases, with evidence have not been investigated, instead we all have gotten the standard nothing done wrong here review form. We are seeking funds for travel expenses to meet with legislators and appropriate law enforcement agencies to have these dangerous and illegal activities stopped, and get patient rights laws enforced, and have our cases properly investigated and offenders prosecuted. The recent Novus Hospice case where the owner ordered the nurses to overdose patients, nurses followed orders and patients died. The nurses admitted it and no murder charges were filed and this is an outrage! This case validates what victims families have been reporting for years all across our country. And this needs to end now. All deserve the right to live as long as possible, and receive safe, individualized appropriate medical treatment.
