My name is Mark Sporay, I am a rising Senior at Appoquinimink High School. I am also the Cadet Battalion Commander of the JROTC program there. I am trying to raise money for our program (30% of the profits) and the Brian Conley Resiliency Center (70% of the profits). I realized how much neglect some of our veterans face and how much they struggle with adapting to normal society or senior care. I want to help them out because they sacrificed so much for us, so I want to sacrifice for them. For my senior project, I am planning to conduct a 5K fun run at Silver Lake Park in Middletown, Delaware. I would like the local military branches and organizations to be present and bring some items, inflatables, games, and more with them for after the 5K This event is open to anybody and everybody who would like top participate. This would allow people to have some fun and support the people who supported us by fighting for our country. All profits From the event will be donated. Our program would like to do more service events around the community to get our cadets to be better citizens. This event would be a great way for people to meet our cadets and help out with our goals.
The money donated on this website will help to cover the cost of hosting the event and whatever is left over will be donated to the organizations mentioned above.
I would also like to ask if people could donate food (Bananas, granola bars, etc), Water, equipment (sidewalk chalk, poles to mark the path, safety vests, a PA system, etc) or your time to please contact me. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank you very much for all of your support. I will post more information as it becomes available.
