Bio-metric Weapon Safety Technology

Greetings,
I would like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to read my letter. I sit here at my computer trying to figure out the best approach to a very passionate subject. One that has our nation divided and needs some cooperative effort to make any sort of progress. The issue of gun safety in our nation.
My name is Matthew Albright. I have a federal firearm license and have been manufacturing ammunition for many years. I have also been a 911 dispatcher for the last nine years. In those nine years I have witnessed countless firearm incidents both accidental and malicious destroying lives and wrecking families. Many of which could have been prevented by utilizing currently available technology.
I have two beautiful children of three and one years old. I love my family but I am also a passionate supporter of the second amendment. I believe we need firearms to protect ourselves as well as our family and property. Unlike the entire gun industry and most in my own political party I feel we can do better. We must do better. I want to do something about this issue, as you do, but I cannot do it alone. We have all heard the expression “It takes a village to raise a child”. I believe it will take a passionate group of us to come to a solution. I know nothing will satisfy all parties but I hope we can at least do something. We can make firearms much safer utilizing technology.
The platform I would like to manufacture would incorporate the latest technology available. The implementation of technology of fingerprint biometrics would render the firearm inoperable in the hands of children, criminals, and mentally unstable individuals that would not have passed a background check. This platform would only be programmable by a federal firearm licensee with a full federal background check being required at time of transfer. I envision computer terminals one at point of sale and one at the local law enforcement level where background checks are conducted to program the firearm once background approval is done. This would eliminate stolen or privately sold weapons from being used without a background check.
I understand the uphill battle involved in this project but I believe that if I had this product, and with the current climate in our nation, congress would be obligated to listen. I want to stand in front of them and show them what is possible. I want to tell them, “This is what we can do right now to make America safer for our children and our citizens”.
With your help we can build a truly revolutionary platform. Together this is possible. I have created NEX Arms to develop this and bring it to market. I want to make this technology available to other firearm manufacturers as well after development. If we can save one innocent child it is all worthwhile. I know the backlash I will take for attempting this. I believe it is worth it. Please consider funding this project to help make this a reality. All the funds from any donation will go directly to the development of this revolutionary safe firearm. Nothing else. You can be part of the solution. We can do this together.
