I am a cancer fighter and survivor. No one should have to face the struggles of fighting cancer. Together we can all help to make a difference in the battle of cancer. While going through my own battle, I came across the Pimpin Joy movement and it has changed my life for the better. #PimpinJoy is a celebration dedicated to the people that are fighting Cancer or other difficulties in life but choosing to find and spread joy in their daily lives. If you are not able to make a donation, all I ask is that you go spread joy to someone random. Do something to help brighten a stranger’s day because you never know what battles they are fighting.
On February 20, 2016, I will join the Miami Dolphins and thousands of riders, runners and walkers to help tackle cancer at the 6th annual Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC VI). I will be completing the 100 mile ride with Team Buccaneers and my good friend Zach, who got me involved with this great organization. In just five short years, the Dolphins Cancer Challenge has raised over $11 million dollars! 100% of participant-raised funds go directly to critical cancer research areas at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Everyone who works for the Dolphin Cancer Challenge is under the Miami Dolphins salary so that means that all donations go 100% to cancer research and NOT to paying some executive’s salary! Whether we ride, run, walk, volunteer or donate, we are all fighting cancer. This is something that cannot be done alone; we all need to team up in order to beat this fight! My goal is to raise at least $2500. I am not asking for any money to cover my flight, hotel, food, or anything of that sort. I want to use all the money raised for cancer research since cancer is something that I personally have fought and no one else should have to face what I have. If you really want to make a donation towards covering my travel to Miami then I will gladly accept it, however I am more focused on cancer research. I am more than happy to cover the trip costs myself.
