Hello Everyone,
Sara has been literally fighting for her life these past 6 months and she needs some help with expenses!
I am writing this request with Sara's permission. I am hoping to raise enough money to help Sara with her living expenses and also hoping to get her in to see a Specialist (not covered by insurance) who works with the kinds of health problems Sara has.
Sara's health issues began back in 2006 when she had surgery to fix a birth defect that caused her sternum to collapse into her chest putting pressure on her lungs and heart. This surgery was necessary to save Sara's life but unfortunately also ended up causing her more struggles with her health because while the surgeons repaired her chest, they also accidentally damaged her Vagus nerve which leads to the digestive system and nerves for swallowing etc.
Since her surgery she has been diagnosed with an immune deficiency, Gastropareses which is a paralyses of the stomach causing her nausea and vomiting, Dysautonomia causing lots of neurological problems and a swallowing disorder which has caused her to have Aspiration pneumonia multiple times in the past few years resulting in having to get a feeding tube put into her small intestines.
In the last 8 months Sara has been fighting especially hard to stay alive. It has been very difficult for Sara as she has been in and out of the hospital multiple times and each time she has sunk weaker. These days she is on an IV for hydration at home, a J tube for extra nutrition when she is aspirating and TPN which is intravenous feeding when she is especially vulnerable to nausea and vomiting. Nurses and caregivers are set up to help Sara and they have been great!
Sara has a home where she can rest and regain strength but needs help financially as soon as possible!
All donated funds will be set aside in an account from which Sara's living and medical expenses can be taken care of. This will lift the burdens off of Sara and allow her to concentrate on regaining her strength so she can survive.
We appreciate any amount you feel led to give to help Sara have a fighting chance.
