Alves' moving and renovation costs

My parents, Pastor David and Marcy Alves, are currently living in a parsonage that is going up for sale this month.  Once it's sold, they will be moving in with us.  We're so happy we can share our home with them, and only charge them their share of the utilites.  They will take over the upstairs of our split-level ranch and we'll move to the basement.  To make this work though, we really need a second bathroom in the basement.   We're also going to add a sink and refrigerator to the spare room in the basement, basically creating a kitchenette.

The other expense during this time is my parents' moving expenses.  Most spare funds my parents have right now are going toward medical expenses as my mom fights rheumatoid arthritis. They need to rent a dumpster and pay for a storage unit.

The earliest my parents could be moving in with us is August, so we're trying to get the 2nd bathroom underway ASAP.  We've got some demo done and met with a plumber today. 

Being able to offer a pleasant space for my parents means the world to Lew and me.  The upstairs is bright and my parents would have one-level living, making it much easier for my mom.  They plan on using the second bedroom for an office, so dad can continue to write, as he knows he's called to do.

We'd much prefer they stay close to family here in NH, than a retirement community in VT.
