Prayers for Addi
It's been a very long day, and we are excited to report that Addi had a very successful radiation treatment and was able to walk out and ring the bell at the radiation treatment centers exit. She did, in fact, get to rock out to her favorite Dove Cameron music. It was a little ruff for Addi as she had to sit perfectly still for an hour strapped in and cried a little when she was uncomfortable. The Dr explained that due to her unique shaped AVM it took them a total of 8 shots of radiation to get what they wanted for a successful outcome. We will be back in Portland in 4 months for a follow-up MRI to see how the treatment worked. I will keep everyone updated between now and then. Addi's looking forward wants have a radiation party and celebrate the big double digit birthday on Tuesday. Words cannot express how thankful for all of the great posts from everyone as they helped keep a smile on Addi's face.
Love the Irey's
She returned to Portland last Wednesday for her scheduled MRI to see how well she was doing without the drain to her brain. Dr said it was looking good, but still had some swelling, so he will give it another 6 weeks and she will go back for another MRI and they will proceed from there to set up the surgery for removal of the AVM thru radiation. Please keep her in your prayers and I will update as to when she will meet with doctors again. So far, everything going as her doctors thought it should. Thank you everyone! ❤️
We are still awaiting the Dr. to schedule the radiation treatment needed to remove this AVM. I will keep you posted when I hear. Please keep her in your prayers so that she continues to get stronger for this treatment. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and letters of encouragement! ..
I saw your page and felt like you may find my story brings you some hope. I had an AVM rupture in my right temporal lobe at age 16 in 1996. I went through much of the same your Addi is going through now. After a craniotomy and PT, OT, & Speech Therapy for memory, I am now a 35 year old mommy, with a Masters degree! Every situation is different as is every brain, but know that no one thought I'd make it through the night, & here I am almost 20 years later! (It made me smile to see her photos-I am a red head and was also a dancer, just like your Addi.) Stay strong sweet Addi! I am praying for you!
Be strong little birdie! We are saying extra prayers for your speedy recovery.
Thinking and praying and sending positive thoughts every day. ♥
Thank you for the updates and we're glad to see there's a plan moving forward. Happy to hear Addi is doing better and please know our thoughts and prayers are continual to beautiful Addi and her wonderful family!
