This is my old school in Bajram Curri, a little city in the Albanian alps and one of the poorest cities in Albania and beyond. The school is in very bad condition and needs to be renovated. However there is no money for it.
I live since 16 years in Belgium, but when I heard about the condition in which hundreds of kids have to learn I decided to do something. I would like that those kids get the same chances, and hopefully better ones than I did. Education is the foundation of a society.
I would like to collect a budget and afterwards go to Albania and together with the teachers, parents and other locals renovate the school.
It is thanks to the education and teachers of this school that today I am a writer, thinker and can contribute for a better world.
These kids need a decent school and positive examples. If we make a little investment in them they can be the future writers, thinkers, teachers... contributers to a better world.

Dit is mijn oude school in Bajram Curri, een kleine stad in de Albanese alpen. Tegelijk ook een van de armste steden van het land. De school is in heel slechte staat en dringend aan renovatie toe. Directie en leerkrachten vinden echter geen middelen.
Ik leef sinds 16 jaar in Brussel maar toen ik hoorde over de omstandigheden in de welke honderden leerlingen les volgen besloot ik om in actie te komen. Ik zou graag hebben dat deze kinderen dezelfde, en hopelijk zelfs betere kansen krijgen dan ik ooit kreeg. Onderwijs is het fundamenent van een sameleving.
Ik zou graag een budget bij elkaar verzamelen en hiermee naar daar trekken om samen met leerkrachten, ouders en lokale mensen de school te renoveren.
Het is dankzij deze school en haar leerkrachten dat ik vandaag een schrijver en denker ben, en vooral iemand die een bijdrage tracht te leveren voor een betere wereld.
