My journey to become a teacher

I started a campaign to  help pay for a yoga teacher certification program.  I have always wanted to do this!  Asking people to invest in MY dreams and my future.. Is a very strange concept... Friends, family and strangers, believing in you. Your tribe, your cheerleaders, people who have been in your shoes, people who want to see you succeed. That level of generosity and compassion has built cities and moved mountains.. It has changed lives. It's Love. I will reach my goal of teaching yoga, wether this avenue or another.. And when I do.. I want to start a non for profit yoga group/club for people with disabilities, physical and mental.. People with chronic pain conditions, people in recovery, people that relapse.. Single parents, divorcees, widows, blind, deaf, veterans, handicapped, Senior citizens and any other sweet soul that has ever been interested but could not afford it, was intimidated or better yet... thought that " they could never do it"... Because they absolutely can!!! Yoga is one of the arts that allows adaptations and adjustments. Its a solo performance and the only person you are challenged by is yourself!!! That being said.. Its also a supportive and comfortable, shared energy, group "sport"! You are all alone and all together- all at once. I've never known anything like it. ((Thirteen years ago, I had a client with developmental disabilities and a multitude of physical limitations, that first introduced me to yoga:)) I also want to teach children.. Especially those with disABILITIES and Behavioral management struggles. If I can give them this tool at a young age, they  can spend the rest of their lives mastering and adapting it to help themselves..(( to have some control and maybe less needs for medicine.))


THANK YOU  for taking the time to read this ... This is as personal as a diary entry. My heart pouring out the ideas that have been manifesting for 13 years ( from the day I was introduced to yoga). I can not think of a better way to spend my days and share my love, then to practice this very sacred art. I can't think of a better example for my children to live by.. I am 32 and this is my dream.  Its WORTH  putting myself out there. To scream to the universe... "I want this!"

(The money will cover the tuition of the 200 hour certification program through Breathe Yoga in Rochester, NY as well as help cover the costs of the after hours child care )
