"THE DECOLONIZER is a monthly grassroots publication that reports local and global news from the lens of decolonization. THE DECOLONIZER speaks from the margins and is unapologetically subversive in it's transgression of respectability and repressive control. It brings forth uncensored content on the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, indigeneity, and colonization."
This is the way we introduce THE DECOLONIZER to the world. But what THE DECOLONIZER is and has always been is a platform in which we, the oppressed Black and Brown and Indigenous people use to lift our voices.
From its beginnings this has been the beating heart of this project. Through the graciousness of the Multicultural Resources Center (Ithaca, NY), I along with Fabina Colon, Nicole LaFlave, and Eden Connelly dreamt of a publication who could tell the story of our lives and our rebellion.
THE DECOLONIZER is quickly becoming more than what we dreamed. It is bending and twisting. It is dying and coming alive again. Its voice is becoming sharper, clearer, its vision becoming more expansive as if reaching the peak of a mountain. To date we have published ten monthly issues and one annual journal. At least two hundred people read THE DECOLONIZER every month. We reach 5000 people a week on social media and our presence is growing. We have recently unveiled our new website http://www.thedecolonizer.com/.

And still, there are more mountains. After my loving departure from the Multicultural Resource Center, I have taken up the commitment to continue THE DECOLONIZER on my own. I have invested my own money so that THE DECOLONIZER may remain add- free, insurgent, uncensored and most importantly FREE.
Along with covering basic operational costs, the proceeds from this Go Fund Me campaign will go primarily towards paying our lovely contributing writers for their word and their labor. An account will be made specifically desinated to make payments to our contributing writers, hopefully starting at $50.00/page. Our writers are primarily people of color, many of them femme and queer people of color who deal with oppression on many levels and need to be paid.
White people who are part of our readership and have benefited from the content in THE DECOLONIZER are especially asked to give. Your contribution will ensure the continuation of THE DECOLONIZER and support those who help make it possible.
