Helping Anna's Family Heal
Anna Jane Abbott just turned 18 and graduated from High school. She sings in the Omaha Blues Ed band, Dilemma, and was having the summer of her life. On Tuesday, June 28th, Anna suffered a severe asthma attack, followed by cardiac arrest and is fighting for her life at Omaha Methodist Hospital's Intensive Care Unit. She will have a long road to recovery and we are raising money to help her family with Medical bills and related expenses. Please join us to begin helping Anna heal!!!
As posted in an update to this campaign, Anna was not able to recover and passed away on July 2nd. At that time, her GoFundMe campaign was changed to "Helping Anna's Family Heal" with her mother, Valerie Abbott, becoming the beneficiary of these contributions.
Since then, Anna’s family and friends have shared many opportunities to celebrate her beautiful life. Through her vigil service, funeral mass and interment ceremony, Anna was remembered and those who knew her will continue to keep her bright light shining. It has been especially moving to experience the impact Anna made during her short life and witness the bonds formed between those whose lives she touched.
Throughout this difficult time, the outpouring of love, support and continued generosity of friends, extended family, Anna’s music family, SMM parish, neighbors and countless others who have been deemed, “Anna’s Village”, has been truly overwhelming. To each of you who have contributed to the “Helping Anna’s Family Heal” fund, please know that your donations and comments have been read word for word and tears of gratitude have been shed over your unexpected kindness. Your generosity will go toward helping Anna’s mother and sister confront the expenses associated with this tragic loss.
On behalf of our entire family, all we can say is “thank you”, even though it feels inadequate. Anna's Village is awe-inspiring and continues to humble us all.
