BELLA NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Hello friends,
Bella, a gorgeous and very lovable kitty was rescued by Pat, one of our amazing fosters at Pawsitive Outreach Spay/Neuter Alliance. When Pat heard that Bella had just hours before she would be sent to a kill shelter by her owners, she rushed out to save her from that fate. Life was looking pretty good until the end of June when Pat's grandson left the back door open and Bella escaped into the night. When Pat realized Bella was missing, she immediately contacted the neighbors and went out to search for her, without any luck.  A little while later,  one of the neighbors knocked on the door to let Pat know Bella had been found.  She was under the porch of the house behind hers,  but she'd been shot with an arrow! That horrifying news was compounded when it was realized that Bella couldn't be extricated from under the porch because the arrow was lodged between the floor boards. Other neighbors rallied to help, as the only way to get her out was to remove some of the boards from the porch. After what seemed like an eternity, they were able to reach her and she was rushed to the emergency vet clinic. The vet who cared for her said that she was either shot with a compound hunting bow, or at point blank range. Incredibly, no vital organs had been damaged. The arrow was removed, and many stitches later the worst was over, for now. The bill for the initial surgery was nearly $1,000 and follow up care will be needed. With such extensive surgery, there is always a risk of infection & other complications, so Bella has a long road ahead of her. She is back home now recovering from her ordeal and you can be assured there will be no more midnight adventures for Bella!
We would like to raise some funds to help Bella out with her current and upcoming medical bills.

Clearly this was no accident, as this happened right in the middle of the suburbs, just a few blocks south of the 5-Mile shopping center in Spokane. This also serves as a sad reminder that 4-legged predators are not the only outdoor danger to your pet.

POSNA (Pawsitive Outreach Spay/Neuter Alliance) is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit no-kill shelter. Our main mission is providing affordable spay/neuter assistance to low income pet owners and stray and feral animals and we also maintain a small shelter located in the Newport, WA area. At any given time, we have between 40 -100 cats/kittens housed at our shelter and at our foster homes in the Spokane area. We are 100% funded by donations that pay for food, litter, medication, veterinary bills, and of course, spay/neuter surgeries.
(Any funds raised that are not needed for Bella's bills will be used to help our other animals in need. )

We, and Bella thank you in advance for your help!
