On June 25th, 2016, Jimmy Cox, a 17 year old from Valparaiso, IN, was in an accident involving a golf cart at work. He received a brain injury, a brain bleed and several fractures in his skull. A part of his skull was removed in order to remove pressure, and the bleeding was stopped. The removed portion of his skull is scheduled to be repaired in around two months.
While the operations have been successful and he is making great progress, there is a long journey ahead--a journey plagued with obstacles and hardships for both Jimmy and his family. His parents, Jeff and Kelly, are understandably under a massive amount of stress, and their hearts are breaking watching their son in such a terrible position. This GoFundMe was created to offset the immense expenses involved with the long healing process ahead. Our community has come together so strongly in the past few days, and the outpouring of love, compassion, and support has uplifted Jimmy's family and loved ones. Donating to this cause will support them further in their mission to see Jimmy happy and healthy again soon. Jimmy is known to be a positive influence on everyone around him, a lighthearted, respectful, and caring young man with a bright future ahead. Personally, Jimmy has been one of my closest friends for years; we met each other in kindergarten and are now going into our senior year of high school. I see him more as a brother to me than anything else, and his recovery is my ultimate wish. I hope he is able to read the words of support and see the donations made in his name soon--we love you Jimmy we are all #JimboStrong because of you.
