Zachary Herrera, a Junior at North Canton Hoover High School, was struck by tragedy when a blood clot deep in his brain caused an artery to burst. Against all odds, he has persevered through 2 brain surgeries that statistically most would not have survived. He now spends each day and night with his parents, Gwen and Mike, by his side in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Akron Children's Hospital. The outpouring of support has been awe inspiring but they have a long road to recovery. The financial burden on the family has and will continue to be immense.
