The Kind-er Coat

My name is Jessica, I am a mom, wife, homemaker, full time employee, and have two degrees in fashion from the Art Institute of Dallas. Due to a car accident when I was 21 months old, I have physical challenges that make every day tasks just a little different. I have always enjoyed winter, part of my disability is that my body doesn't regulate heat well so winter was always a good time. That said, I HATE winter coats because of my left arm. Its stiff and difficult to move, most coats are the same way and by the time I got a coat on it was 10 minutes later and I was sweating and frustrated. This led to oversized sweatshirts (not a good look) or I would just tolerate the cold. I had finally had enough and decided to brainstorm with another designer to to come up with the solution. What I had thought of was a coat that eleminated a left sleeve all together since that was my biggest challenge and I didn't use the arm anyway. I also wanted it to close on the side instead of down the middle since I'm mostly in my chair while I'm out and I didn't want it to come open. We went to work with those basics in mind and soon added an interior pocket to hold my left arm in place (easier than a sleeve as I only put my hand in the pocket), an interior strap to hold the left side of the coat snug to the body, and we made a full overlap in the front (left side goes all the way to the right and right to left) to ensure coverage in any position. I can now put my coat on with very little if any frustration and in just a minute or two. After completing it, we realized the MANY practical uses including: people with physical disabilities, stroke victums,  people with autism that benefit from pressure or that tend to hit with one arm, people that have broken their shoulder or collar bone, etc. I knew it was something I needed to promote. I need 3000 to finish my patent and another 2000 to hopefully start production. Please help me raise the funds to help others and hopefully start a successful business in the process.
