Hello Everyone,
               We are the 2016 Worcester Slam Team and it is hard out here for a poet. For some of us the journey started back in September of 2015 with a qualifying slam and for others it started with a UFC slam in May! Our journeys have since intertwined and will culminate in Decatur GA this August 1-6 at the National Poetry Slam. Worcester has a rich poetic tradition that lives on today in the numberous open mics and poetry shows.  Including the Poetry Slam venue 7 Hills Slam. There has been a team representing Worcester for two decades and this team will try to fill the shoes of many before us. We have been working hard honing our craft and trying to raise funds for everything involved.  As one might imagine this is a daunting task between travel, lodging, and fees. We are looking to you, our loving poetry community, family and friends to help fill the gaps that still exist.

The 2016 7 Hills Slam team consists of:

Ashley Wonder

Ashley Wonder has been writing poetry for over 15 years and performing Spoken Word for the past 8, in her hometown of Worcester, throughout Boston, Providence, and as far as Maryland. She is a Slam Poet in the Worcester and Boston poetry scenes and won her first Slam in Worcester December 2014.  She uses her life experiences, relationship with God, to help inspire and motivate others to always have hope. She is known to perform with dynamic passion no matter the content in hopes of positively impacting her audience.

Robert Blackwell Gibbs
Robert Blackwell Gibbs is a long time Worcester resident and has been performing in slams since 2002 and has been on a number of slam teams and performed in a number of cities. Robert speaks for the counterculture and for the people from the street.


Malt Shlitzman
Malt Schlitzmann has been published on Vice and Cracked.com. He has strong feelings on everything and is eagerly anticipating telling you all of them at maximum volume. Follow him on Twitter for respect and sweet photos of owls.

Queen G.
Queen G is a passionate poet, performer, and public speaker. She is a multi-medium artist with a heart for youth, community, empowerment, and Christ.
