Emily's Powerchair Fund

Donation protected
Emily Lowe is a beautiful, eleven year old girl with an undiagnosed movement disorder. Part of this disorder is a continual, uncontrollable tremor, which along with her low tone (floppy and weak muscles), makes purposeful movement extremely difficult. Therefore, Emily cannot talk, sit, walk, dress, bathe, feed or in fact complete any task, unaided. She also suffers from epilepsy, scoliosis, osteopenia, global delay and feeding difficulties.
She lives at home with her mum, dad, brother (Zac) and nana, who care for her every need. Due to her inability to communicate either verbally or through signing, Emily finds it almost impossible to express her wishes. She is completely reliant on others 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Emily currently uses an attendant propelled wheelchair.
Emily has recently trialled a Snapdragon Powerchair which is a specialised, highly versatile powerchair for disabled people.
It was an amazing experience where Emily showed her determination to make choices about where she wanted to go and began to take herself there independently, for the very first time. The chairs are extremely expensive, but will give Emily more independence and an element of her choice, thus improving her quality of life.
Please help us in raising the funds for this life changing piece of specialised equipment. The cost of this personalised chair is £22,000.
