My name is Tabitha Williams, I am the wife of Evan Williams, mother of Ashton (9 months), Persephone (2), and Kieran (3).
We live in McLaughlin, SD, which is a fairly small town in the good ole midwest.
When I was about 18 I developed a fairly big lump on my thigh. Doctors didnt know what it was, all they could tell me was that it had an infection and I would have to get it lanced and be on antibiotics. Little did I know I would have to battle an unknown, incurable illness for the rest of my life.
Fast forward quite a few years and this illness finally has a name. HidradenitisSuppurativa. It has no cure and is very painful and spreads throughout the body, depending on the severity of your case.
Mine happends to be the worst case the dermatologist has seen. I have tunnels and "tumor" like lesions in alot of places. Usually, I have a flareup every 4-6 months, which can be handled with oral medication. But since September of 2017 I have had a constant flare up with numerous tumors and a lot of pain. Add to that adhesions to my uterus due to 3 complicated pregnancies which required c-sections and you have a recipe of unpleasant circumstances.
I am constantly in and out of the hospital, ER, and clinic. Being bounced around from specialist to specialist. After a few months I was put on a handful of medications and Humira. The humira is supposed to help suppress flare ups and hopefully put me into remission. IT also gives me a compromised immune system and a few bit health set backs but thats a chance I have to take. The humira alone runs over $17,000 and comes with a copay that I just cant swing right now. Add to that the price of my medications and visits to the metro hospital which is 86 miles away and things get pretty pricey.

We are also raising funds for medical expenses for our 3 children. Kieran is 3, going on 4 in a couple days. He has been a kidney patient since birth. On a scale of category 1-5, 5 being the worst your kidneys can be, his left is a 5 and his right is a 4. He also has an abnormal bladder and severely damaged ureters. We do potty train him, but due to his condition he makes it about 30% of the time. He battles frequent constipation as well. He is marked as a high priority kidney patient so he is taken care of immediately. We have to monitor his urine for any changes in output or color or smell. Signs his kidneys are having trouble are low grade fever, cough, stuffy nose, pain in the back or sides or lower frontal abdomen, pain when urinating. He has been in and out of the hospital so many times its given him ptsd with simple doctors visits. He is looking at total reconstructive surgery from his kidneys to his bladder which will require him to be placed in a medically induced coma for 2 weeks. As a temporary fix they want to sew his kidneys to his back, put holes in the kidneys and back skin and attach a bag. Its a very scary ordeal when his kidneys act up because he walks a very fine line of immediate surgery and transplant or recovering to make it to the next battle.

Persephone was born with a PDA (large hole opening on the top of her heart) and 2 smaller holes. Upon release she had a murmur and one hole was still open in the middle of her heart. She needs a yearly scan and will be due for her scan in July.

Ashton was born 6 weeks premature due to major medical complications which included the placenta giving out. He is rather healthy but is showing signs of having the same kidney problems as his big brother and needs to be monitored. He also has trouble regulating his phosphorus and calcium. at first it was thought he might have de George syndrome but it was too early to tell. SO far he is doing well.

At the end of May my health insurance switched from Medicaid to private insurance through my husbands job. Which means I am responsible to provide a huge chunk of the Humira cost as well as the other medications that I need.

We have alot going on for such a young family and we need help. So please, whatever you can give would be most appreciated. My husband is hard working, over 40 hrs a week, and aside from making sure our bills are paid ontime and our children have all they need, theres really not much left for me and im fine with that, but for the betterment of my quality of life and to help eleviate some financial burden on my sweet husband, I am asking for help from all of you.
