Rodney's medical bills

On Friday, 6/17/16, Rodney was riding his motorcycle on his way to visit his cousin in Plant City when he was struck from behind and thrown off his bike. The driver of the vehicle then ran over Rodney's left leg causing severe trauma and multiple injuries. There was also another car involved who had to swerve from running over Rodney which caused them to run off the road into a ditch.
The driver responsible for these accidents never stopped to offer assistance or information. We are working with local police and attorneys to try to find this person. In the meantime, Rodney requires around the clock care from family and a physical therapist. While we aren't sure the extent of his injuries what we do know is he has fractured his patella, tibia, fibula and has multiple fractures to his ankle. He has undergone surgery to his ankle and is currently awaiting a second surgery to his knee. He is having to wear an external fixator for the next 6 weeks in order to try to heal the bones enough to preform the surgery. The surgeon has informed us that he won't be able to walk again for at least 6 months and will require 3 additional surgeries.
While he was covered with insurance they aren't willing to cover all of his expenses until the co-pay is met which is around $4,000. He is also requiring injections to thin his blood and the insurance isn't paying for the full supply needed. These injections are around $1,500. In addition to all the medical expenses Rodney and his wife are both having to miss work which is causing the household bills to pile up. We understand times are hard for many people right now so anything given is much appreciated.
