2017 Harvey Relief Fund

As of September 26, 2017 when Harvey made landfall, West Oaks Little League’s fields were affected by the storms that hit the Houston area. Our fields are a part of Harris County’s flood plain and harbor the water from Addicks Reservoir and Dam; this is to keep the surrounding neighborhoods/areas from flooding.

Our fields, concession stand and equipment sheds will be under water for several weeks. It will be weeks before the Army Corps of Engineers releases water in the Barker Reservoir and weeks before we will be able to enter the premises to assess our damages. We anticipate destruction to our structures (Score Boxes, Bleachers, Stands, Sheds) and the loss of refrigerators and some equipment.

To help with relief efforts to restore our fields, refrigerators, some equipment and miscellaneous items, please donate to the West Oaks Little League GoFundMe campaign.

2016 Tax Day Update
Thank you to all of the West Oaks Little League Donors, Our first campaign for the 2016 Tax Day Relief flood raised $5,520 of which $4,000 was used to purchase a used lawn mower. The remaining $1,520 was used to buy weed eaters, lawn maintenance supplies and refrigerators. Several area little leagues assisted us with direct financial support and supplies.

West Oaks Little League(WOLL) has been serving the Alief and Fort Bend communities, since 1976. It is a place where children are taught and enjoy the culture of America's favorite pass time; baseball. As of April 19, 2016, West Oaks Little League’s fields were affected by the storms that hit the Houston area.  These fields are apart of Harris County’s flood plain and harbors the water from Addicks Reservoir and Dam; which keeps the surrounding neighborhoods from flooding.

It has been predicted WOLL fields will under water for about two months. This includes sheds, epuipment, and concession stand food. Nearly  everything will have to be replaced due to rust, water damages, and mold concerns.  This GoFundMe campaign was started by West Oaks Little League Board Members to help with relief efforts to restore our fields, equipment, food, uniforms, and other miscellaneous items.

We will start replacing the most important equipment first to ensure a successful fall season.  We want to thank a neighboring little league for letting us use their fields to finish out this season.

We are grateful for all donations to our league. The campaign will help keep the dreams of present and future baseball players alive, as well as preserve positive memories from the past. We do this all for the youth of the community. And look forward to ensuring a positive activity in our area

Thank you,
West Oaks Little League Board
