Help me send Christopher to College

Hi, my name is Joseph Franco and I want to introduce you to  my hero, Christopher Leon. All he wants to do is go to college and draw the comic books that helped him imagine a life outside his home. Why outside him home you might ask and well, Christopher was born with spinal muscle atrophy and his parents were told that he would not live past his 2nd birthday. Ever since then, he’s been confined to his home because a simple cold for us could turn into a trip to the ICU for him. You wouldn't believe me if I told you but he was willing to RISK his life to walk the stage at his High School graduation recently. Against doctor recommendations and fighting pneumonia he did so and to a standing ovation from his fellow graduating class all while they chanted his name. He went to HS with the help of vgo robot was provided to him through Assistive Technology for Los Angeles Unified School District, but Christopher's dream of going to college will fall short as his parents cannot afford the VGO on their own so I’m reaching out to you through this gofundme campaign to help make Christopher's dreams come true.  This is an incredible opportunity for friends and community members to support his dream becoming a reality!


The cost of the VGo is  steep at approximately $6,000 to $7,000. There's also an additional annual service contract that costs approximately $100 a month and additional charging pads cost about $500. The user can also upgrade the battery to a 12-hour model for an additional $200. The money raised will be used to help him buy his own VGO and attend college. 

He’s already an accomplished digital artist in my eyes and all he needs is help to take his passion to the next level. I know that with your help, we can  make his dreams come true .
