Ready to Roll!

I'm Thomas, a disabled veteran. No, I wasn't disabled while I served, but after at work in my civillian life. I blew out my spine and in 2011 had spinal fusion surgery. Since then I've had to survive on the pitiance that Social Security pays out as disability insurance. I used to love riding my motorcycle and would ride for hours on end, but since surgery I've been told by my doctors that shifting on a bike could dislodge the fusion device in my spine and paralyse me. Just recently an online friend introduced me to the idea of a trike. He even went so far as to offer me his old 1977 Honda Goldwing GL1000 as a donor bike to build my trike around. I jumped on the idea and have been furiously trying to organize the people and shops that I'll need to get my trike project going...what I don't have is the $8,000.00 it's going to take to rebuild the basket case you see in the picture and make a trike out of it.
Normally a project like this can be accomplished by a good shop in a couple of months, which would give me a chance to get out in the wind again, something I sorely miss....see, ever since I blew out my back, I can't run anymore, can't ride anymore, and basically, can't get the feeling of the wind in my face, moving freely....it's just not the same in a car as it is on a bike, or in this case trike.

I'm going to let everyone who donates help decide the style of the trike and the color. As the build progresses, everyone will be part of a group email (providing they give their email) and it will be a majority rules decision on almost all non-essential aspects of the build. I will also include regular pictures of the progress (if the shop will let me take pics in the shop)....I'm willing to do that if you all can help me out.
