Help Russ Get More Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
My name is Rick Smith. I'm a friend of Russ's. This is Russ's story so I'm going to let him tell it in his own words.

My name is Russ Eggen. I'm 57 years old. I live in the Tampa Bay area. I've been a software developer for many years.

On March 30, 2016, I had surgery to remove a tennis ball sized tumor from my small intestine. 12 inches of small intestine was also removed. The doctors also found another small tumor which had spread to a region of critical blood vessels in my small intestine.

This could not be operated on since this cluster of vessels feeds the small intestine. The doctors recommended chemotherapy but I rejected that idea since it has a low success rate.

A medical oncologist confirmed for me that the success rate for this type of cancer was only about 3%. He was confident they could shrink the tumor so it no longer showed up on a PET scan (has a resolution of .2mm and tumors smaller than that cannot be detected).

However, I wanted to kill all of the cancer, not manage it. I did some research into alternatives and found a local clinic that has a 6 week program that would kill the cancer, not just manage it.

They use natural substances like high dose vitamin C and cesium. Cancer hates that stuff as it starves it of nutrients.

Unfortunately, even private insurance won't pay for this type of treatment as its considered experimental despite the good results. So I had to finance this regimen myself.

But the financing hit the limit and while I'm employed at a very good job and paid well, its not enough to cover the rest of the expenses (and its the cheapest and fastest therapy I've found).

I got halfway through the treatment and I could tell improvements were happening. Blood tests confirmed there was no spreading of the tumor. But the tumor itself is not completely gone. Fortunately, my liver and lymph nodes are currently clear of cancer.

I'll use the funds I receive to pay for the remainder of the treatments in this program. I may have to go back a bit in the treatment plan since I had to stop the treatments due to running out of funds.

I'd like to receive the funds as soon as possible so I can restart this treatment before the tumor has a chance to spread. Although this type of cancer is a slow moving cancer, I'd prefer not to take any risks in that area.

I don't normally like to ask others for assistance if I can help it. But I'm at my financial limit with this program at this point.

Being able to receive the funds to finish this treatment program will allow me to finish this treatment program and most likely destroy the tumor.

By destroying this tumor the abdominal pain I currently endure should be greatly reduced as well. Some days it's all I can do to get through the day without pain killers.

I'd appreciate anything you can contribute and I'd be very grateful for your donation. Thanks for reading.
