Oral Surgery due to Vape Explosion

On October 27, 2015, Mike was holding the vape to his mouth when the vape exploded. 


The blast broke off Mike's top 3 teeth at the root, broke 2 of his bottom teeth, tore through the roof of his mouth, and chipped the front of his palette. Mike also sustained flash burns to his face, mostly to the right side of his face, including his eyelid. His eyelashes and eyebrow were both singed.


There are a number of treatments and surgeries that have been done to be done to repair the damage. 

Although insurance has paid for most of the expenses, our portion exceeds $10,000.
We have pulled from Mike's college money to cover deductibles and such. 

Treatments:
-Initial surgery to repair mouth wounds (xrays, scans, hospital stay)
- Emergency dental visit to seal 2 broken teeth (lower)
- Temporary dental flipper (upper)
- Surgery to remove 3 roots  (upper)
- Surgery to harvest bone and implant to reinforce palette for implants
- Surgery to place 3 abuments (upper)
- Three implants (upper)
- Repair 2 broken teeth (lower)
