School Books, Nicaragua

While traveling through Nicaragua this past week have come across a school in need of new school books. After taking a bus, getting an unexpected horseback riding experience, and walking a mile I was able to visit this small school on my way to the lookout around the corner. One teacher teaches three grades in one classroom. During my visit I learned that the Nicaragua government will provide books to a school when the school has 30+ students; the school in Garnacha has 21 students.  Talking to the teacher I learned the school is in need of books in math and literature for all three grades, and a globe. With three books in each subject for each grade (18 books) the teacher can lead the students in groups .

This Friday I will purchase books and give them to a man from the village while he sells organic produce at the market. Any donates will go directly toward the school. All money raised will either buy books or a map for the classroom.
