Browse Awhile Books Tipp City Fire

$9,272 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 139 people in 36 months
Downtown Tipp City suffered a devastating fire in the morning hours of June 21st in our historic Browse Awhile Books Building and part of the Merchant 31 Building.  The fire displaced residents, ruined merchandise, and is still smoldering throughout the morning hours, destroying the old historic building which is nationally renowned for its reports of haunted activity that attracted many. We are so saddened by what is happened and we want to be proactive by creating a relief effort to help all those effected by this fire. The money raised for this will go to help the tenants who have lost everything, and the building and business owners fund the clean up and restoration beyond what insurance can cover.  We have a strong, tight-knit community that I know will rally behind our downtown owners and residents in their time of need.

GoFundMe seriously just donated $1000.00 to our cause. What a wonderful organization that not only gives us a platform to help those in need but also gives back to those causes they believe in.

We are almost to our $10,000 goal!
So far we have been able to help the residents in both apartments with recovery from the fire and next we will be looking at what money is needed for building repairs after insurance.
The bookstore will need some strong individuals to help haul 200+ boxes of books and shelves across the street. If you can help contact Amanda by messaging the the Browse Awhile Books facebook page.

The fund for the fire is up to $8,087! That is amazing.
The bookstore is in the process of cleaning up with hopes to re-open after repairs are made and we hope to be able to help them with that process.
Also - if you can't help with funds and want to help with clean up they are accepting anyone that can help move all these books.

Thank you so so much for all your donations. We want to let everyone know that the tenants are good on clothing now and appreciate what everyone has given. Any clothes that could not be used will be donated to the Clothesline in Tipp City.

If no one has contacted the Red Cross yet, for the tenants, please do so immediately. They may be able to help with temporary, emergency housing, clothing, food, etc. They aren't just for major disasters.
