After going to Galveston he caught a flesh eating bacteria and now has lost his leg. They amputated his leg under the knee and are now waiting to see if they will have to amputate anymore. It will be a rough road for him ahead and for his family.

Update: Surgery went well. Infection had lingered and gangrene had set in. Luckily they caught it early and they only took a couple of inches off his leg. We're back to wait and see mode to make sure they got it all out. He's in good spirits and thankful for all the prayers and well wishes.

I want to thank everyone for your donations, thoughts and prayers. Brian is working with a physical therapist now. They are still keeping an eye on his leg and his blood pressure because his blood pressure is all over the place. For the most part he is in good spirts considering what is going on.

Sorry to learn about what happened to your son. But it would also be really helpful if you could provide us with the exact name of that "Flesh eating bacteria"? Maybe I could learn more about it with your help, please.

You are in my thoughts in prayers. I suffered from flesh eating bacteria in 2013 and we have no idea where I got it from. Thankfully the Drs at St. Luke's saved my leg after 7 surgeries and 3 weeks in the hospital.
