Thank you to all who read this!!

My name is Shell and the people in the picture are my sister Sherry Howard (far right) my Niece Shayla (middle) and My Brother-in Law Max. They also have a son, Max (Opie).

My Brother-in Law is a 49 year old, hard working man
that lost his health insurance about a year ago because the company that he works for could no longer afford to offer it.  (I am sure a lot of you can relate). A week ago he wasn't acting "quite right" and my sister became concerned. He was asking the same questions over and over and seemed to be having trouble with balance.  Sherry told him that he needed to go to the hospital but he was being his stubborn self and kept saying no! Sherry called their son, Opie, to come over and they convinced him to go to the nearby Bedford UPMC hospital.

After a few tests, they determined that Max had suffered from 2 strokes and needed to be life-flighted to Presby Hospital in Pittsburgh. Here they found that he had 100% blockage in 2 of his ateries in his neck.  AND part of a blood clot went into the main vessel of his brain. Later that night they discovered another blood clot. They were able to clear both blood clots and had him sedated in ICU. He is still there. A week later. He has not awakened....at all.

They tried giving him some medicine to help him wake up, but, all it did was make him breathe harder.

He also developed a fever on Wednesday, that's when they discovered pneumonia.  They said the pneumonia could hinder him from responding to the medicine they gave him to help wake him up!  So, they have to wait 3 days to try and clear the pneumonia before giving him more medicine to help wake him.

They performed another MRI on Thursday night a discovered that Max had suffered from more strokes in the last few days. The prognosis is not good. They don't expect any quality of life from the damage to his brain tissue! WE ARE PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE!!

The breathing tube can only be in place for 2 weeks. It has been one week today, June 25, 2016. At the 2 week mark, they either have to perform a tracheotomy so he can breathe through that and insert a feeding tube, to keep him alive, or, just remove him fromthe ventilator and let it be God's will. How do you make that decision?

Any money donated will go towards medical bills from both hospitals and the life flight transport.  I can't imagine the cost of these!!

Thank you for taking the time to read my story!  Thank you to anyone that donates!!  And thank you to anyone that reads my story, says a prayer, and shares this!!!!!

I will update any new information as it becomes available!  God Bless
