Father's Day will never be the same for my Nephew Nic or for his girlfriend Casey!!!
Nic and Casey are two young parents doing the best they can. Casey gave birth to Nic Jr. December 27th 2012 and he's always been their pride and joy. In March of 2016, not even three months ago, Casey gave birth to their beautiful baby girl Naomi Mae (3-25-2016) Their family was now complete. Casey and Nic were so happy and that happiness grew when they finally got their own apartment. They spent their first night there Saturday the 18th. We all know there's nothing greater than taking that step out of your parent's house to finally having your own place to raise your own family with the love of your life. Their life was finally going in the direction they had waited so long to get to.
That was until Father's Day morning. Nic had woke up very early, checked on Naomi, who appeared to be fine and off to work he went. Casey went in a short time later to check on Naomi and found her lifeless!!!! A fear many of us have thought about as parents had now became a reality for these two young parents ~ Naomi had passed in her sleep....SIDS....Those horrible 4 letters that no parent should ever have to hear!!!
It's hard enough as a parent to try to wrap your mind around WHY this would happen to a sweet innocent baby. It's even harder to try to explain to her 3 1/2 year old brother why god took his sister!!!! Nic Jr. told his daddy that he wanted to take a plane to Heaven so he could see Naomi and that he wanted to die and go to babyland. He's so young and just doesn't understand what is happening.
They are fortuante enough to have Casey's family near to comfort them, Unfortunately, Nic's parents (My brother and his girlfriend) live in South Carolina as does Nic's sister Ashley (my neice). They had not even had the opportunity to meet their sweet Granddaughter/Neice.
I have no idea what the cost of burying a child is, All I know is that these two could use any amount of donation you're willing to give. I hate the thought of my Nephew having to go back to work anytime soon so they can keep their new apartment, He needs to be home with his family right now. They are about to face many hard decisions as it is and to worry about how they'll pay for it all is a worry I don't want them to have.
I'd also love to raise enough money to be able to help with the cost of helping Pete, Lisa and Ashley get to Michigan ASAP to be able to comfort Nic ~ We all know how important family is during tough times and how we all look to our parents to ease the pain, Something Nic doesn't have right now is the comfort of his parents......
