Brigid's Trip to CICRIN Orphanage

Donation protected
If you know me, you know that one of the things I feel most passionately about is that every child deserves to feel unconditionally loved and safe in their home. You would also likely know that my husband and I started our family through the foster-to-adopt process and were unimaginably blessed with two boys through that process, in addition, we were unimaginably blessed with the births of our younger two children. We have closed our home to foster placements, for now, while we focus on raising our children and meeting their needs, but I still am always looking for ways to help children in need and serve children in as many ways as I can (volunteering at the children's school as often as I can, volunteering to coach various sports and extra curriculars, organizing a local support group for foster and adoptive families, to name a few). God has opened a door for me to serve in a new way.I have the opportunity to travel as a member of an outreach team, through my church, to an orphanage in Nicaragua in November. CICRIN is an orphanage serving as a home to approximately 30 children and a Christian school feeding breakfast and lunch and teaching 85 local children. We will be working with CICRIN on a building or repairing project at their facilities, (the last two years the team has worked on rebuilding office space damaged by an earthquake, building a retaining wall and tiling floors, the hope this year is to begin a second story) restocking, organizing, and serving in a second hand shop that serves as a primary clothing store for many in the village and provides many needed funds to the orphanage and school, providing much needed support and encouragement to local mothers, and spending quality time with the children at CICRIN. We will be building relationships, learning more about the culture, and experiencing God's love, beauty, and amazing works on the Ometepe Island in Nicaragua. In order to go on this trip I will need to raise $2,000 for travel and ministry expenses, $700 by mid-July the remainder in monthly payment fees until a month before the trip. I am seeking financial support for this once in a lifetime opportunity but I am also seeking prayers of support. In addition to this Go FundMe account I will be fundraising through Clynk, (contact me for a bag or two or three!) a yard sale, (or two or three!) and possible team fundraisers. Any raised funds above my goal will go towards gifts for the children of the CICRIN orphanage, toys, craft supplies, hygiene supplies, etc. If for any reason I am unable to go on the trip (illness, unable to raise all funds, unforeseen events) any money ualready raised will be dispersed amongst team members on the trip.Thank you for your consideration, prayers, and support,Brigid
