My name is Yvette Bernier and I am Dan and Mo's daughter in law. I thought I would start a go fund me page to help Dan during this difficult time to help him with any expenses.
Mo began her fight 13 years ago. She battled breast cancer and survived with a full recovery with the love and support of her family. Then 5 years ago she became ill and was sent to Boston for open heart surgery during the Boston marathon bombing. She fought and survived this battle. In 2014 she developed a foot ulcer that she and Dan did their best to try to heal. "Dr" dan would spend countless hours taking Mo to Dr's appointments and wound clinics, helped care for her at home and was so dedicated to his wife to try to help her though this stage. Unfortunately last month her wounds became worse and she had a below the knee amputation. Due to all her health conditions of diabetes, cardiac issues and respiratory issues she has finished her fight and began hospice care as of recent.
Dan and Mo have been married since 1969. They have 3 boys and their adopted daughter Joanne that they lovingly raised. Mo is known for her amazing quilting, and cross stiching as well as her amazing cooking and love for her family and friends. She had a super sense of humor that made people laugh.
Because Mo has been battling so many health issues over the past 13 years, Dan is the sole provider for their family. He faithfully stays by her side and has had to take time off of work to help care for Mo. Medical treatments and costs have been many and Dan has been just taking it day by day focusing on his wife.
