We would like to take this opportunity to share with you our Vision for a new Youth Center/Youth Project serving the needs of an estimated 1,000 teenagers residing in the downtown Windsor core, from a wide variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Youth Embracing Today's Youth (YETY) Summer programming focuses on teenagers, as we believe this group of young people often underserved, overlooked and underappreciated by many local agencies. This lack of connectivity and services translates into a host of community problems including general mischief, property vandalism and potential gang activity. Our teens need a safe environment where healthy life choices will be nurtured and promoted. We feel it is vital to the long term health of our community that we develop and implement services supporting teenage youth in Windsor. The money raised will go to hiring Eligible students to run programs for the youth. It will also go towards adding additional support to our culinary and various programs that we would like to run for our youth.
