Greetings Caring Social Media Community,

For those who do not know me, I am Jonathan D. Bates, and I am writing to you on behalf of my friend, business partner, and Founder of the independent music artist platform launched in 2010, RnB Spotlight, Cory Taylor. Some of you may have experienced RnB Spotlight over the years at its recent residency at the world famous music venue in NYC, SOB’s, or in its earlier years at BB King’s.

Some of you may be familiar with Cory Taylor from him being  featured on WE TV’s season 1 and season 2 (2013 -2015) of R&B, Grammy Award–nominated vocal trio, SWV’s reality series, “SWV Reunited”, during the time he served as their full-time Manager. Cory also served as full-time Manager for Meelah, former lead singer of the R&B group, 702, and was responsible for securing Meelah on TV One’s R&B Divas back in 2013. Some of you may have seen his appearances on this particularTV show.

Over the years Cory Taylor's entertainment company, 21 Voices Entertainment, has supported and secured opportunities for a multitude of emerging artists, and those more known artists who have graced the RnB Spotlight stages such as, SWV, Carl Thomas, Faith Evans, Musiq Soulchild, Tweet, Kelly Price, Dru-Hill, Mario Winans, 112, Glenn Jones, Sunshine Anderson, amongst others. Cory is a well-known, well liked music industry veteran who has been selflessly providing opportunities for R&B for over 10 years.

On Feb 17, 2016 Cory suffered a life-changing stroke. Although classified as mild, the stroke left Cory temporarily, partially paralyzed on his right side. Although Cory, with the help of rigorous rehab, has re-gained his ability to walk, it is with the aid of a brace, or a cane. Today he still struggles to gain full use of his right hand, and leg. Fiercely independent, and unaccustomed to relying on others, this has been a very challenging time for Cory. The stroke has left Cory unable to work and earn a living. His insurance coverage for needed rehabilitation does not cover 100%, and Cory is now faced with mounting, daily bills and expenses. His Doctor told him when the stroke happened back in Feb that it was “stress related”.

Caring Ones, it is my goal to further help alleviate the financial stress and strive that Cory is now experiencing due to his recent medical condition that has left him unable to work at this time. It is my hope that I can implore the social media community, humanitarians, and lovers of R&B  to participate in this fundraising by making a donation. Please know that every penny of your donation will go directly to Cory, and help to offset his mounting daily bills and expenses (mortgage, utilities, groceries, etc.), and the cost of needed physical rehabilitation.

It is my hope that anyone who has ever attended RnB Spotlight over the years, or has performed on the RnB Spotlight stage, or simply love R&B, find it not robbery to help a good man who has helped so many. I asked that those who know Cory Taylor personally, to please assist in getting the word out and sharing this campaign on your social media pages. Your donation, regardless of sum, is very much appreciated and needed! The goal is to help raise a minimum of, $15,000.00, which will all go directly to Cory to help alleviate his financial stress. I humbly thank you for your time, attention and cooperation, it is greatly appreciated!
