Hodgkin's lymphoma? Heck Noe!

My name is Nancy and I am the lucky owner of a 17 year old nephew (Noe) who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma. Since his immune system is compromised, he cannot return to his farm home during his treatment. I volunteered my room as a recovery room and my boyfriend and I have relocated to the living room until his treatment is over.
As soon as I heard the news, I immediately went into "what do we need to do to help?" mode with a side of "it's not true". I continued to be in disbelief until his first chemo treatment. He stayed strong and in high spirits most of the time, but there were some days where he looked at me and told me he didn’t want radiation and pleaded with his mother to not take him back to the hospital. It is heart wrenching to watch someone in pain or afraid. I have never felt so helpless. He spent 3 weeks in the hospital because of complications and lost 13lbs in one week.
My family does not have much, but we are giving what we can. Lots of love, hugs, reassurance, hope and money. My sister Susana (his mother) just started a new job and is working grave shift. She has no vacation or time off and she’s missing a lot of work to be with him. Her husband, Andres is in between jobs and also spends his time with Noe. They share a three seat truck (they have a four person family) and cannot take their entire family to the hospital with them. Noe’s brother got a job to help monetarily, but he does not have a car and it’s hard to align our schedules to arrive to work on time.
It is very difficult for me to ask for help (I’m a bit stubborn), but I don’t know what else to do. We are looking to raise money for Noe's necessities and to purchase a reliable car to transport him to the hospital.
I’m grateful for every thought, prayer and donation. It is an amazing feeling to know how much love and support we have already received from family and friends who know. I hope everyone realizes how quickly life can change; love honestly, hug tightly and care deeply.
