Aussie Hero Quilts - Jan-Maree

$50,930 of $48,000 goal

Raised by 786 people in 26 months
For a lady that so selflessly gives her time in supporting deployed ADF members, I feel compelled to do something in return in her time of need. Jan-Maree's home burnt down overnight, with little able to be recovered. Although reluctant to accept any assistance right now, I want to kick things off anyway. Whether the money be used for family living essentials, a new laptop or new quilting supplies, I don't really know, but know I want to do something to help on behalf of all serving members that have received an Aussie Hero Quilt or laundry bag.

One week on, and over 700 people have donated a massive $43000! This will go a long way to restoring some normality for the family and keep AHQ going.
JM has expressed her thanks for the overwhelming support.

The tally is up to $36000. Many people have been donating and choosing to remain anonymous but leaving special comments of support that aren't visible to the public. I'll be making sure all comments left with donations, both publicly or anonymously are forwarded to Jan-Maree and family. It might just take me a little while - there has been over 600 donations made!

$33,000, well on our way to $40,000!
Thank you to everyone for showing your support for the Ball family.

All your comments are a reflection of Jan-Maree's incredible work over the years. With more than $22000 donated, I have no doubt we'll reach $25000. This is huge considering the initial goal was $1500, though not surprising now I've read all the amazing messages. The same Aussie spirit that Jan-Maree has shown to so many has come full circle in her time of need. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

Meaghan Suttor , the other thing that Jan-Marie is worried about is the loss of her records. We all know how particular she is about this. I was wondering if there is a very good computing person who could put up pages with month, year ,from(name of person who made either quilt or laundry bag) and to( name of person -with their rank- who received quilt /laundry bag etc) plus short description of item donated ? I have kept all the addresses of the people I have sent to, in my diary, on the date their item had to be sent by. Perhaps others have also?and we could start to get this information for Jan-Marie? I am not a great computer person but I was thinking like a spreadsheet thingy? Is this possible?

Jo asked me if I would put out a blog blast about Jan-Maree and I was happy to do anything I could to help. What a wonderful woman with a huge heart for others. If you want to read my post you will find it here: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2016/06/for-quilters-with-heart.html

Just to let you know, I have sent through the link to a ship currently on deployment, and they are taking donations from pretty much everyone on the ship for a mass donation. Many of them received their hero quilts and laundry bags on this trip and are devastated at the news. XX

My husband got his quilt and laundry bag a few months ago, on deployment in Africa. I have send him the link too and asked him to share it around if the CO will let him. I think we can do better than $4,500 if the last few hours are any indication!

Just received my quilt. I love it and it brightens up my room on base. It's lovely to know that people are thinking of us while we are away and support what we are doing.
