Family Funeral Cost

Donation protected
For those of you who know me, know I don't ask for help when I need it. That is to my detriment. Butnow I'm asking, not for me but for my brother's family and my mother.

My brother, Troy Philbrick, was shot in his own home early Friday June 10, 2016 by cowards. Our family all live very close to one another and so I was there before help arrived. I heard someone yell "he's not breathing" before I got to him. I ran into his bedroom with him on the ground. My mother was crouched over Troy crying and screaming "my baby boy". A neighbor was administering CPR. I asked my mom where he had been shot. I pulled the towel away from his side and knew right then and there he wasn't just wounded. I started yelling and screaming at him to wake up moving his face to look at me. There was no more life in his eyes.

Paramedics came and took over. We were escorted out of the house. After what had felt like hours, paramedics came out of the house one by one. I immediately ran to one and said "Why don't you have him?" expecting Troy on a stretcher. All he said was "I'm sorry." I can't remember exactly what happen after that because I went numb and everything is a blur. My brothers house was taped off and the investigation began.

For ones who knew Troy, knew he struggled with social anxiety and only had a small circle of people he called friends. But those friends are quality and everlasting. He was funny and witty. I called on him many times when I myself was struggling. He was always so caring and kind to me and called me "sis". We'd talk on the phone for hours sometimes even though we lived houses apart. He would sit in his garage night after night and drink a couple of beers to ease the anxiety.  I could most always count on him to be in there relaxing. I'm now left with a closed garage door, passing his house to get to mine.

Troy has a wife, 2 daughters, 2 step daughters and 1 step son he called his own. He also has a niece and nephew from myself. He is a great uncle to my 2 year old grandson Dominic and Baby Noah who was born June 8, 2016, two days before his life was taken. Troy was the first person I texted when Noah was born sending pictures and updates. He never had the chance to meet Noah.

Soon I'll be burying my only sibling, my only replica of my father and my children's father figure. I will not see a dime of this money raised for him. This is for his funeral expenses, his family and my mother. I appreciate all the help and support I have already recieved. Many have asked if I need anything....and this is it. Even five dollars goes a long way. Though this will go to his family and my mom, it is supporting me to help support them in this time of tradegy.

Thank you all.

With much love,

Carrie Philbrick
