Kane's no Pain Fund

Donation protected
Hi friends and Angels supporters,

Many of you may recognize Kane (King Kane) from previous posts as he was rescued by AAU in August of 2015 with a severe case of heart worm. My brother Trevor Primo and his partner Kyle originally signed up to foster and care for Kane while he continued his heart worm treatments for a matter of months. However they quickly realized that he had found his “forever home” after seeing all of the love and compassion that Kane showed towards other people and animals while he fought his own battle through that hard time. If you have ever had the opportunity to meet Kane in person you know what is so special about this fluffy guy. Since then, Kane has fought off a severe respiratory infection, and had surgery to remove an “abnormality” from his left paw which was later determined the be the remnants of a shotgun pellet from a previous gunshot wound. Through all of this Kane prevailed and has been amazingly healthy ever since… Until now.

Kane has become critically sick again as something is causing his kidneys to function improperly. Dr. Smith and the incredible team at Chattahochee Animal Clinic have worked so hard to help him come a long way. With their efforts numerous illnesses and toxin exposures have been ruled out but he still isn't eating and is extremely weak.

Dr Smith transferred Kane to Georgia Veterinary Specialists (GVS) Animal Hospital in Sandy Springs for continuous IV fluids, close monitoring, and further testing as they narrow in on the cause. From here on out everything is pretty much a long list of items that they are checking off until a final diagnosis is reached. He could be at the hospital for a matter of a few days or longer.

Our families have supported and continue to support AAU every chance we get and now we are asking for your help. Kane's medical bills are rapidly increasing as he has been in and out of the animal clinic for a week straight. Trevor was involved in a motor vehicle accident back in October while driving to work at the Roswell Police Dept., he suffered a sever concussion and just had to have a cervical disc fusion in his neck two weeks ago. With Trevor out of work and on disability being able to afford the needed care for Kane is quickly becoming an over whelming challenge.

So many of you have offered your thoughts and prayers and they are so greatly appreciated by Trevor, Kyle, and Kane. However, they are now to a point where they truly need everyone's support to give Kane the medical care he needs as he continues to fight so hard. Kane is only four years old and has such a potentially long and healthy life ahead of him. Trevor and Kyle are dedicated to insuring that they do everything possible to get Kane back to his lovable self.

With his surgery last month over a $1,000. This week they have invested over $2,000 treating Kane at the Chattahoochee Animal Clinic and now going to GVS he will have an average daily cost over a $1,000. By the end of the weekend they will surpass $5,000 in medical costs and that will continue to increase if treatment has to continue.

Please keep the love, support and well wishes coming as they definitely help boost our spirits during this hard time.

If you have any capabilities to help support Kane’s much needed medical needs or could pass this message to other AAU followers or animal lovers in general our family and Kane would be forever grateful.

Any funds that are donated towards Kane’s Treatment, that surpasses his direct needs, will be immediately donated to Angels Among Us to keep the good Karma rolling forward.

With much compassion and love thank you,

Alyson Hughes (Primo)
