Send Tamborine to Philly for Bernie

At the Washington State 10th Congressional District Caucus on May 21, 2014 five delegates were elected to represent Bernie Sanders at the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, PA. Out of the five, there were three women from Thurston County. Tamborine Borrelli was one of those 3 women!
Tamborine is asking for YOUR help to raise money to defray the cost of flights, hotel rooms and other travel expenses to get from Thurston County to Philadelphia by the week of July 24, 2016.
Meet Tamborine:
Tamborine was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Her parents were small business owners of a beauty salon and her father worked a second job as an educator teaching psychology and civics to high school students.
Tamborine was inspired to get involved in politics as the movement around Bernie Sanders came into being. She opened up a volunteer campaign office to organize the people of the 2nd LD to register to vote, pre-register for the caucus, as well as facilitating phone banking and doorbelling for the campaign. She became a deputy field organizer for the campaign, a caucus site leader and was on the Thurston Democrat Platform committee.
Tamborine’s passion for justice and ensuring that everyone has a chance to live their best life has been a driving force in her life for years. From running after-school programs for underprivileged girls in the Chicago projects, to working as a personal coach in Los Angeles, to opening a community cafe featuring organic, local food as well as local theater acts, using her skills to serve others just comes naturally.
She also isn’t afraid to stand up for what is right. Tamborine was one of roughly 1,400 activists arrested on the steps of the Capitol as part of the Democracy Spring movement urging Congress to pass legislation to overturn the Supreme Court’s Citizen’s United ruling.
As Tamborine was getting handcuffed alongside activists, journalists, and ordinary citizens from across the country, she looked up into the windows of Congress and wondered how America could work better if just a few more of those offices were held by people with the kind of forethought, integrity, and passion as the citizens she was now sharing a police van with.
Bernie's vision is what has inspired Tamborine to become involved as a National Delegate and was at the root of her decideding to run for State Senator in WA state. As challenging as running a campaign can be it makes it all the more powerful for her to be there in Philly as one of Bernie's advocates.
Being a National Delegate was something Tamborine knew she had to accomplish so she could be there in Philly ready, willing and able to STAND WITH and FOR Bernie, the one man who has fought for the people and has refused to give up. Tamborine feels she was born for this REVOLUTION and will be the kind of delgate that Bernie can DEPEND on to fight and not give in to the pressures of the establishment.
