Tuesday night June 7, Matt Wetherbee suffered a significant spinal cord injury while playing basketball. He was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital where Matt is currently paralyzed from the chest down without the use of his arms and legs. He has undergone multiple surgeries in the past several days. We are all praying and hopeful he can eventually make a full recovery, but he has a long road ahead of him.

For those of you not lucky enough to know Matt personally, he is a warm, genuine, funny, compassionate and generous young man. Originally from Marblehead, Massachusetts, Matt headed down to James Madison University where he completed both his undergraduate and Master's degree in Sports Management. After college, Matt met the love of his life, Kaitlyn Kiely in the summer of 2011. The two have been inseparable ever since and moved in together in Boston last September. He is a huge fan of all Boston sports teams, an avid athlete and loves playing basketball and golf.

Matt, Kaitlyn and the entire families of both the Wetherbee's and Kiely's have been overwhelmed and extremely grateful by all of the love, support and best wishes they have received since the accident. This account was created in hopes of alleviating the cost and burden of the inevitable medical expenses they will be faced with. Let's continue to show Matt, the Wetherbee's and Kaitlyn how much we all will continue to support them during this time. Whatever support you can give would be greatly appreciated during their time of crisis and we all thank you for your consideration.
