Hello friends!
I'm excited to say that I'm going to be a national delegate for the Democratic National convention in Philly this summer.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm proud to go and forward the work everyone accross the nation has done for Senator Bernie Sanders. Not only does this allow a front row seat to the nominations process but what many don't realize about the convention is there is a great chance to talk to legislators at the constituency caucus's about issues that matter to our Nation.
I'm a person living with a very devastating disease called Cystic Fibrosis. I've been on disability for 10 years now. Minnesota does a decent job of helping people with medical disabilities in handling their situations but we need to do better all accross the nation. One of the proud moments of the campaign for me was when Bernie talked about the value of people with disabilities. Saying that we still have a role to play in our society and how we shouldn't cast them into the corner, we should lift them up and help them still be the best people they can be. This was such a motivating statement for myself that it empowered me get even more involved and believe that he fought for me and people like me.
So down to the ask! I need help raising the funds to go on this great trip. The estimated costs of the trip are around $4,000. I'll also be driving this distance because my medical condition doesn't allow me to fly any more. This means even more cost. I live on about $12,000 a year from my disability checks so any way you could help with a small donation would be much appriciated!
Anyone who knows me knows I'm one of the calm yet passionate heads in the room. I intend to remain to put forward the issues that brought an overwhelming majority of Minnesota Democratic voters to agree Bernie Sanders was the best pick for progressive Minnesota values!
