Little Mountain Fun(d)raiser

Donation protected
For thousands of years, Little Mountain Gallery has housed fantastic, community-based comedy programming in Vancouver, featuring some of the very best local comedians and artists.

Our weird space is a like a little comedy tree-fort, where we’ve been able to try experimental and unusual formats that have not just survived but built an amazing following at the only venue in Western Canada that’s completely run and programmed by comedians, seven days a week.

We want to continue to expand and improve and we need your help this summer at our first ever Little Mountain Comedy Department Fun(d)raiser!

Operating out of a building that has perviously been an automotive garage and butcher shop, we’ve done a great job maintaining the space due to countless volunteer hours from dozens of amazing people, but we’d like to keep getting better.

We’ve been extremely lucky, hosting low-cost, accessible comedy and being able to pay the bills and this fundraiser is our attempt to put some money towards general repairs and improvements that we're unable to do alone, as a small not-for-profit.

Things like:

— Insulating and ventilating the building so it isn’t a thermos-style bunker
— Redeveloping the stage and seating layout to better use the space
— Removing many of the nails
— Improving/creating the electrical and plumbing systems
— Raccoon Room retooling
— Liquor licensing

We'll be hosting a special fundraiser show, Saturday, June 24 but we understand not everyone will be able to attend, so we've set up this fundraiser page!

If we hit $2,500 we can safely say we’ll be able to do some general refreshing of the space, along with improvements to the stage layout and seating that were recommended to us by a professional theatre designer.

At $5,000, LMG can begin to insulate and ventilate the space - much needed for anyone who has been here in the winter or summer.

Beyond that, all money will go towards the space’s multi-year goal of obtaining a liquor license, creating a real bar area, electrical safety upgrades, plumbing, lighting/technical set-up along with the many, many other things that need improvement!

The vast majority of our labour will be volunteered and we thank everyone for any level of support they can provide!

We appreciate everyone's help and look forward to updates on how many nails we estimate need to be formally removed!
