Puppy Needs Some Dental Help

This is Huckabee.  He's my 4 month old Golden Retriever, and he's wonderful.  Absolutely loves everyone, he's incredibly smart and well-behaved.  And for the most part he's completely healthy and in perfect shape.  Except he has a minor issue with his teeth.


Huckabee's lower canines have a random fluke of a defect, where they seem to have been trying to become TWO teeth instead of one.  As a result it's thrown his bite formation off a bit, and his lower canines are poking his upper gums.  While this doesn't cause too much trouble right now, given the fact they're still his baby teeth, it does cause a little discomfort as they press against his upper gums and can cause a lot of problems for him later.

According to the vet, their positioning has narrowed his lower jaw's conformation enough that his adult teeth won't have room to spread out as they come in, and they run a risk of growing up and digging into his palate, causing pain and risk of infection, and costing MUCH more to correct with an actual orthodontic surgeon later (doggy braces, anyone?)


The saving grace here is that these ARE still puppy teeth and we still have SOME time before his big-boy chompers start growing in.  But not much.  The vet has recommended we get his baby canines removed beforehand to give his adult teeth space to grow out properly, and the surgery for that is thankfully MUCH cheaper than the adult procedure he would end up probably needing.  But there's still a problem and it all just comes down to timing.

We're currently trying to close on a house right now and money is tight as we save up for those final costs, and so even a cheaper surgery is something we can't quite afford to shell out from our savings account.  I make some extra money with artwork, but I don't have enough to cover the surgery with that alone, and with the surgery being recommended to happen as soon as possible rather than later, to reduce the chance of his teeth being pushed the wrong ways, I've come here for a bit of help.

If I could reach this goal before the end of June at least, if not sooner, it would really mean a lot to me.  My boy is my baby, and I want to do whatever it takes to make sure he grows up as healthy and happy as possible.   The money will go directly into getting him the quick little surgery he needs and he will be right as rain, ready to go.
