The Charlito Project at MAC II

Donation protected
The Charlito Project is the memorabilia organizational arm of former movie executive CHARLES LIPPINCOTT.  Charley worked on a range of movies including STAR WARS, ALIEN, FLASH GORDON and JUDGE DREDD.

Between Aug. 17-21, 2016, MID AMERICAN CON II will be hosting the annual science fiction and fantasy WORLDCON convention. This year's MAC II is the 40th anniversary of the 1976 STAR WARS PRESENTATION where Charley presented his now famous STAR WARS slide show. In 1976, the STAR WARS slide show was followed by a Question & Answer session with Mark Hamill, Gary Kurtz and Charles Lippincott. The '76 pre-release event also included an exhibit and display of Ralph McQuarrie's art and screen used costumes and props.

For this year's MAC II, Charles will not only present his 1976 STAR WARS slide show, but he will also recreate the 1976 STAR WARS EXHIBIT using contemporary equivalents rather than the original (now invaluable) screen used items. The exhibit will include an updated section featuring rare pieces never before exhibited, including Al Williamson's original STAR WARS DAILY COMICS 2nd week pitch (the 1st week is in George's collection) and ALEX TAVOULARIS' 1975 storyboards.

Aug 19, 2016, will be MAC II's STAR WARS day. In the afternoon, there will be a 2 hour panel on print and marketing, then, in the evening, the slide show followed by an audience Q&A session with Gary Kurtz, Alan Dean Foster and Charles Lippincott.

Charley believes information should be freely shared, which is epitomized by his facebook page. Per this philosophy, two videos will be produced from MAC II's events which will be uploaded on youtube so folks who cannot attend can share in the event. The first video will show highlights of the 2 hour panel on print and marketing, and the 2nd, the slide show and Q&A session. This gofundme is being done to raise money for the MAC II event.

The cost of mounting the exhibit, plus documenting the afternoon panel and evening event, easily surpasses what Charley Lippincott can pay for himself. There are no corporate sponsorships or backers involved. Any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated. Big or small, the thought is what counts. All donors will receive a flyer produced for the event featuring a Chaykin cover and history of the event.

Donors who contribute $25 or more will receive the flyer, plus a pin replicating the 1976 giveaway, and The Charlito Project patch.

Donors who contribute $75 or more will receive the flyer, pin, patch, and The Charlito Project T-Shirt.

Donors may find updates on the event via Charley's facebook page -- it's under the more formal Charles Lippincott name.
