Stand Tall PT for the Homeless

Stand Tall is a non-profit organization, founded in 2016, that provides physical therapy and health related services to homeless individuals of NYC.
Recognizing that homeless individuals are often in dire need of physical therapy services, Stand Tall intends to fill the void of rehabilitation treatments available to this vulnerable population at no cost.
More than 62,000 individuals sought shelter in the New York City municipal shelter system each night, according to the Coalition for the Homeless in 2016. Our internal surveys demonstrated that chronic pain, difficulty walking, and trouble sleeping were among the top physical impairments noted for many. Through expert training and endless practice hours, the value in which physical therapy can have on improving these current conditions is overwhelmingly apparent.
Currently, we are working at The Fortune Society located in Harlem, and plan to provide additional services to residents of Pride Site in Alphabet City beginning in March. The next hurdle that we need to break through is obtaining the necessary funding, staffing, and donations to allow for attainment of proper equipment, legal fees, and outreach development to allow for a sound program to be constructed. With proper tools and staff, we will be able to provide all individuals with the environment to not only succeed, but thrive in obtaining their treatment goals towards securing financial independence.

With your help we will be able to jump-start Stand Tall to begin the necessary PT services to the homeless community. As our financial expenses are numerous, we ask that you please consider a generous donation to help make our aspirations become a reality.
Additionally, if you have any equipment (ie: yoga mats, foam rollers, weights) that you would contribute, it would be most greatly appreciated. We are extremely excited to begin this project, and would love for each and every one of you to take part as well.
