Laurie's Medical Fund
I have been undergoing Naturopath treatments and will be adding chemo therapy next week in efforts to combat this by whichever medical needs necessary.
The Naturopath treatments include weekly Vit C IV and supplements that will build my immune system, support the effectiveness of the chemo, and help my body detox and recover from the chemo.
In order for me to provide the best medical support for myself and lifestyle for my son I am in need of financial assistance as my Naturopath treatments, which involve both a strict diet and supplements, are not covered by my insurance. In addition, I have already accumulated a large amount of medical bills from ultrasounds, CT scans, surgery and tests, many of which will continue for the next 6 months or more.
This is difficult for me to ask, but please consider donating not only for myself but for my son, Logan. I want to be the best parent I can be which requires me to be healthy and available for him.
Thank You. I will keep you posted on this journey.
I am feeling great! Lots of energy, continuing to take a baseline dose of supplements. Have met with different naturapaths and still working on establishing a good relationship with one of them for maintenance support of vit C infusions and supplements. Logan is VERY excited to be back in school. We had 2 sleep overs the first weekend we returned (1st one on the same day!), his birthday party sleepover the next weekend, and yet a 4th sleepover the 3rd weekend after our return. I am back at the school as a part time teacher and handling personal bookkeeping clients.
I had my 90 day checkup last Tuesday. My CA125 is 5 - the lowest ever. I'm scheduled to see the doctor every 3 months, CA125 test at the same time, for the next 2 years, then I'll see the doctor every 6 months. At that time we were not able to review the PETscan as it hadn't been forwarded to the doctor just yet.
Late Wed the doctor called regarding the PETscan results. There are 2 little spots on my neck that concerns him. He says it's possible it's just an infection but since it's in the same place as prior affected glands they are concerned. I head back to Oahu today for a biopsy.
Please continue to say your prayers. I am greatly hoping that it is just an infection as my throat / voice have been bothering me the last week or so and my WBC is down.
Love you all and thanks for all your support.
The Kaiser nurses and staff were full of smiles and congratulations (still arguing after grievances filed 15 weeks ago with HI and CA Kaiser Administrations regarding my $700 refund but I won't bring down the moment and go there). I was happy to find at Costco 4 lbs of Hawaiian Host chocolate covered Mac nuts to give them as my Mahalo! They loved it.
While waiting in a very busy lobby for my treatment I sat next to an older lady there for her 2nd treatment for liver cancer. She was mentally and spiritually strong. We shared our stories of positive attitude, strong faith, and doing all you can to support yourself during this process. I glanced about to the other people waiting as we talked. They were smiling and I could see hope and determination on their faces. Here we were, two strangers, one finishing and one just starting, both with the attitude "I did it!" and "I can do it!"
"I did it!!!"
Now on to phase two. But first we're dressing up and going trick or treating!
We look forward to my body (as well as the periodic chemo brain) recouping and getting back out in to the world and living to the fullest. Hugs to everyone and see you soon.
In addition to regular follow ups, I'll be continuing vit c infusions & blood ozone treatments Still lots to do but soooo happy this part is behind us. Hugs to all!
