Do you believe in the kindness of strangers? This post is for you.

I have no words for what happened with my friend Tyler and his lovely wife who will be the recipient of this post - they are still in shock and I did not wish to bother them with logistics.

If I have ever contributed in any small fashion to the quality of your life, I personally request that instead of spending five minutes posting your kind sentiments about what a sad story this is, that you would instead use those five minutes to contribute in whatever way you see best fit.

Personally I would love to be in a position to contribute the entire amount, but I am still paying for the car crash I was in as well as an upcoming surgery without insurance. Having said that, what does this have to do with the kindness of strangers?

...Well, Tyler was/is my very first friend in America (you can see in my original FB post, a photos of us 25+ years ago, in our first play directed by his dad Tom, who was my college professor & mentor and became like my American dad :) …Tyler’s family introduced me to such traditions as Thanksgiving that we shared together while we were students together at Eckerd College. Tom shortly after died of cancer and it was heartbreaking for so many.

Tyler’s amazing sister Tanya babysat my little sister Serena when she was six months old so that my family could attend my graduation ceremony; Tanya and I have remained sweet friends over the years and she recently helped me during a most challenging experience.

Truly had it not been for Tyler I might've not been able to stay in America, which means I might've not met you who are reading this.

Tyler and his lovely wife Marca live in CT and last night while they were out, a fire suddenly engulfed their home, not only destroying the house but also killing 6 of their rescue cats. If like me you have 4-legged angels in your home, you know they are our children, so you can imagine the level of devastation.

A lot of local friends are stepping up to help with places to stay, clothes and food. From far away, and fully believing in the kindness of strangers, I thought to step up by creating something that I've never done before: this GoFundMe account.

If either I personally, or Tyler and Marca have contributed in someway to the quality of your life, I request that you spend the five minutes it'll take to donate even just a few dollars, to help them get back on their feet. Tyler and Marca, you are in our hearts. I am glad you are safe and that you have each other.

If you are reading this and you are friends of Marca & Tyler will you please share it with your friends in your close-knit community? <3

Loving you,
