Non profit consideration

My name is Gerard Sumpter. I am an entrepreneur born and raised in Detroit Michigan. In an effort to do my part in the revitalization of my home town I have started a non profit organization. The 4R's is a community based innitiative aimed at blighted sections of the city. Our mission is to shine the light on what seems to be forgotten areas within the city by using the 4R's. Recycle, Reuse, Rebuild, Restore. We feel our efforts will not only boost the beauty and economy of our city but will also restore the feeling of community within our inner city neighborhoods.
The $1000 dollars we are seeking will be used to send off all of the completed paperwork and receive federal non profit 501c3 status. After being credited with federal nonprofit status the real work can begin. 
Personally as a resident of Detroit I can't help but be grateful for every donation big or small. Also as a businessman I am eager to start this project as soon as possible. I look forward to working with many of the contractors, city officials, and people in the community who strive to make Detroit better for everyone.
